Responsibilities

One of the Redevelopment & Economic Development Division’s primary objectives is to eliminate blight in the City. This is accomplished by facilitating the development of new commercial, industrial and residential projects, which in turn revitalize the older areas of the City and stimulate the local economy by increasing the tax base, as well as creating new employment opportunities. Furthermore, this Division is designed to address the needs of the business community and the economic vitality of the City by retaining, expanding and attracting desirable businesses.
